As soon as my son was old enough, he moved out of the house.  He also quit going to church as often as he had
been.  It eventually dwindled down to nothing when he began working nights.

I would remind him it was important to attend a good faith-building church.  I would talk to him about his not tithing
and remind him he had “open doors” for the enemy to come in and attack. He would always agree because he was
raised in church and the Word, but he never seemed to do anything about it.

I would speak things that, at the time, sounded right and scriptural.  I did not realize I was creating a breeding
ground for the problems to grow.

One day during my whine and worry time before God, not only did God rebuke me for whining and worrying, but He
pointed out to me that I apparently knew nothing about The Blessing He had placed on my “seed” (son).  He had
me look up scriptures about offspring and seed.

God said, “Nan, you need to go back and study how many times I mention that I would bless ‘you and your seed or
offspring’, and take special note that I never said, ‘but only if your seed walked right.’”  It was an eye opening
experience.

You will notice that the above reference scripture in Isaiah and Genesis mention that God WILL pour out His Spirit
and blessing on your children, and that His covenant is an everlasting covenant.  Forever.  It doesn’t say anything
about “if only they do everything right.”

I know that the Bible says many times that you are to obey His Word and then His blessings will follow.  I mentioned
that to God and He took me back to a statement I’d written in my Bible in 1982.  It stated simply, “Even our mistakes
are none of the devil’s business.”

Between that statement and the understanding of God’s mercy, I realized I was speaking out what my son was
doing, not what God said about him.  I wasn’t speaking a blessing over him; I was speaking a curse.  I was so
focused on what the devil was whispering in my ear, I got caught in the trap of listening to and agreeing with his
lies.  Yes, he was out of church.  Yes, he wasn’t tithing.  Yes, he no longer read his Bible.  And as I fretted over
this, I never faced that was I was really doing was worrying.

Deuteronomy 30:19 states, “ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life
and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live…”  I was choosing to
magnify my son’s mistakes rather than speaking life over him.

That changed.  I repented and began to speak blessings over him.  I spoke prosperity, health, walking upright
before God, long life, safety, angels ministering to him, etc.  I no longer spoke what he was doing.  I spoke life.  I
spoke what God says about him.  I spoke the end result of what he should be – on fire for God, prospering, tithing,
Bible-reading, and faithful church going.

It has changed everything. The enemy stopped talking to me about my son’s failures because I’ve quit listening.  I
discovered that God said in our seed would all the nations of the earth blessed because we, obeyed God’s voice.
(Gen. 22:18).  As a parent, I have a covenant right to remind God that He promised to bless my child.  God has
even promised that He would bring children back where they belong – out of the “land of their captivity” (Isa. 43:5,
Jere. 46:27).

Romans 2:4 says that it is the goodness of God draws unto repentance – not bad, fear-based things.  I fully expect
that The Blessing of God on my seed will manifest in ways over and above all I can ask or think.  Once I changed
my focus and my mouth, the Blessing of God began resting on my son in ways it never has before.

I have every right to expect God’s blessing to rest on my son.  I have every right to command angels to surround
and protect him.  I can walk in love toward my son (i.e., no nagging allowed) and know that what he does is none of
the devil’s business!  I have His Word on it!
THE BLESSING ON YOUR SEED
Isa 44:3   …I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon
thine offspring:

Gen 17:7   And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and
thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to
be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
