YOU ARE SO WORTH IT!

There was a commercial - and probably still is - about a certain hair color product.  One of the lines was,
"...because I'm worth it" - implying this woman uses this product because it is THE best product and she
deserves the best.  It's a great commercial to point out a common "flaw" we sometimes have as women.

I've known too many women who don't believe they are "worth it" - I used to be one of them.  There are
self-deprecating little put-downs in their conversations such as "Oh, I can't have that, it's too expensive."
WHAT?  What an implication - that we aren't worth having something just because it might be expensive.
Who should have something that is expensive if not you?

I have a particular brand of moisturizer that I absolutely adore.  Whenever I find a great deal on it -
usually ebay - I buy several.  This way I can share any extras with friends of mine.  I recently gave a
bottle to a friend who promptly set it aside to only use on special occasions.  Why?  Because of its
perceived expensiveness.  It's moisturizer, not gold, but she didn't feel worthy of using something
expensive (in her eyes).

That got me to thinking about my long journey to feeling worthy of anything at all.  There are so many
things in our past that can create a mental stronghold in us teaching us that we aren't worthy of nice
things.  Nice things can be anything from a fantastic career to a great car to an expensive moisturizer.  It
can also be as important as thinking no one else thinks we are worthy - so we make bad choices based
on that thought process.  Many women settle for a man so far below their worth simply because they
don't believe they deserve better.

Every one of us knows of someone who hooked up with an abusive guy - physically or emotionally.  This
guy's one key to holding on to that woman was convincing her she needs to stay with him because no
one else will have her.  She isn't worthy in her own eyes.

God says we are worthy - of the sacrifice His son Jesus made on the cross for us - of His love - of great
things.  He says we are the apple of His eye!  There are so many scriptures in the Bible showing how
much God thinks of us.  We are worthy. If we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, He gave us His worthiness,
so we are worthy.

No one can take that away from us unless we hand them that power over us.  GOD says you are worthy
so don't let anybody take it from you.  GOD says you are worthy, so don't let anybody convince you
otherwise.

He made me see that I should be blessed not just because of anything I'd done, but because of what
Jesus had done.  Jesus made me worthy through His blood.  Boy, once you get your mind wrapped
around that, it will change your life.  It may take awhile but once you begin to think that way, once you
begin to say to yourself, 'Hey, no one has the right to treat me this way" - watch out!

I went from thinking I wasn't worth anything to "Bud, ain't no one ever gonna put me down again!"  And
people could not and did not have the power to make me feel unworthy, ever again.  God is the one who
made me worthy of all good things.

God made you worthy.  He loves you because He loves you.  He wants to love you, so He does.  If no
one else on this earth seems to love you, God does.  You are worthy of His love.  Making Jesus your
Lord and Savior made you instantly worthy.  You are worthy of the nicer things in life - peace of mind,
prosperity, protection, nice things, and real LOVE.  No one can take that away from you - NO ONE.  If
you will begin to see yourself as God sees you - YOU CAN'T LOSE!

Until next time, live your life in UNBOUNDED JOY!
