I was outside early this morning, watering flowers, rose bushes, plants and my two magnolia trees.  We have had a lot
of hot weather here in Arkansas and it can be hard on every living thing!

While I was watering my snapdragons, I noticed they were looking a bit stressed.  I hadn't been faithful enough to keep
them well-watered.  In this type weather and the type container they are in, they pretty much need watering every
morning.  Without that water, they begin to dry up, to wilt and to die.  They fail to flourish.

As Christians, we are the very same way.  We sometimes feel like our enemy has turned up the heat* on us and
everything seems to be going wrong.  Without the faith which comes by hearing (reading, studying, meditating) God's
Word, our faith begins to dry up, to wilt and to die.  We fail to flourish.

The Word is sometimes called water; water brings life.  When we water our Spirits with the Word of God (scriptures),
we put out the fires the enemy tries to start in our lives before they can damage.  We build up our faith and that faith
helps us stand against the heat!

The devil heats up the pressure to get us off of our faith stand.  He wants to get us off of our love walk.  He wants us to
say the opposite of what we really want (i.e., "I'm so sick" instead of "I am healed by His stripes").  He wants to destroy
our faith.

If we aren't watered with the Word, he can turn up the heat hot enough to get us into his playground, the realm of the
flesh and fear.  There we are ill-prepared to deal with the fiery darts of the enemy.  Once we get in the flesh (out of
faith), he begins to kill, steal and destroy things in our life from relationships to finances to health!  We can never beat
the devil by getting into his playground.

With a solid foundation of Word, no matter what heat the devil applies, we have the Water to put it out!

WATER yourself every morning with the Word of God.  Dig into those scriptures and believe them.  You quench fiery
darts every time and you won't wilt under the effects of the heat!
