2 Cor. 4:18. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
One of my favorite words in the Bible is the word TEMPORAL. If we could get a true understanding of that word in
relation to our lives, we'd be joyful every day and never have another down day.
"Things that are seen" means things comprehended with our physical senses. Things you can see, feel, hear,
taste, smell, and touch, etc., in this natural realm are subject to change. Things you deal with naturaly are
temporal.
The word TEMPORAL simply means temporary or for a time. Anything temporary is subject to change. While it
may be a "fact" - it is temporal. No matter what the devil throws at us, it is subject to change!
The things which are not seen - God's Kingdom, His way of doing things and His way of being right - they are
eternal. They are permanent. The Word of God is Truth and Truth trumps fact every time!
Sickness in your body? Subject to change. Trouble in your marriage? Subject to change. Empty checking
account? Subject to change. Don't have a job? Subject to change. Don't make enough money? Subject to
change. Don't feel good? Subject to change. Doesn't seem like God is answering your prayers? Subject to
change. Seems like you've been standing for something forever? Subject to change.
I don't care what it is - it's subject to change!
Too many times, people focus on the temporary more than they do the permanent. They allow temporary things
to affect their life and get all down and depressed. All temporal things are all subject to change. Stay in the
Word. Stay on God's side. Don't side with the devil and his temporary wiles - stick with God!
What determines whether a thing is temporary? If it is not the Bible truth. You may have a fact in your life but if
it's opposite of what God has to say about it, that makes it temporary. If it is not a Bible truth, it can be changed.
If you will stick with the Truth, that truth will change the fact. Take cancer - it is temporary. It is always subject to
change, as is all sickness and disease. Why? Because the Bible truth is: By the stipes on Jesus' back, you are
healed!
No matter what you're facing today, IT IS TEMPORAL. It is only for a moment. It is temporary and therefore,
subject to change. Get the Word onto that temporal thing and change it into an eternal truth!
SAY IT: What I'm dealing with is temporary and subject to change! I will focus on the Truth, the Word of God,
and not this temporary thing.
Sharing the goodness of God:
