This week, I am starting a short series about religious traditions that have kept so many Christians in
bondage.  We will start with the often incorrectly taught or quoted scripture Romans 8:28.  One of the
tricks of the enemy is to get us to blame God for all our problems. The devil makes people think God is
working in their lives when troubles overtake them.  The reality is that the devil is the one responsible.
His best trick is to get Christians to believe that, "Once I became a Christian, the devil can't touch me so
everything that happens to me, God is allowing."

Many think
everything that happens to them is from God. They are blinded by their lack of knowledge.
Others try to find the good in their bad circumstances. They have been told "all things work together for
(their) good."   This is a partial quote from Romans 8:38.

The trick of the devil here is keeping people from rebuking the REAL enemy and taking authority over
the bad circumstances.  After all, if we believe "all things work together for our good" then we can't do
anything about the problems we are having.

People sit, waiting on the Lord to do something.  They might be waiting a long time and it is possible
they will die and go on to heaven waiting on the Lord.  He is waiting on all of us to take the authority He
has given us to kick the devil and his tricks right out of our life (Matthew 10:1; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark
3:15; Mark 6:7; Luke 9:1, Luke 10:19, etc.).

Many Christians use "all things work together for the good of those that love God" as an excuse to stay
in failure. To them this scripture says, "All the devil does to me will turn out for my good. I just need to
be patient and God will turn things around for my good."

The Bible does not say that at all!  When the Apostle Paul wrote that "all things work together for the
good", he was teaching on intercessory prayer.

First you must note that this scripture starts with the word "and".  This indicates that the sentence is a
continuation of the one prior to the word "and" so you have to back up to find out the topic of the
sentence dealing with "all things".

When we pray in our heavenly language, we pray the perfect will of God. The Spirit knows the mind of
the Father. He then will help our infirmities. That word "help" means to "co-operate with or assist" us.
When we don't know what or how to pray, we have an area of weakness (infirmity) we need help in.  The
Holy Spirit helps us to pray the right thing.

All things don't work together for our good unless we're praying in the Spirit, praying the wisdom of God,
and then walking in that wisdom (obeying).  As long as we believe that everything that happens to us is
allowed by (or caused by) God, we open ourselves up to many tricks of the enemy - hurts, illnesses,
troubles, trials, and other things that we have authority to stop.

Perhaps that is why so many Christians walk in more failure than they do victory!  It's time to take our
rightful place and walk in the victory Jesus died on the cross to procure for us

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should
pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth
what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints
according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for
good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose" (Rom. 8:26-28).
