Let's say that when I first married my hero, when he came home from work, I'd throw myself on the
floor at his feet and cry, wail, sling snot, and beg him to do something for me.  Let's say I wouldn't let
him get a word in edgewise but just keeping crying out to him to help me.  Now fast forward a few
years later and answer this question:  How well do you think I would know my husband if that is the
only form of communication I had with him?

Instead, let's say that after we got married, he went on night shift for a month.  We didn't have email
back then so were only able to write up something in a document and save it to a diskette.  We
swapped diskettes every day and read what the other had written, chatting and answering
questions.  I only saw him on Sundays but by the end of that month, I knew my new husband
intimately.  We both got to know one another in a short period of time through words.

So, if you want to do amazing things for God - or to walk in adventures of faith - or even just have
day-to-day needs met in your life, Daniel states that you must know God.  God is not a mystery.
You can know Him and how He operates in every area of your life.  You can have a supernatural
lifestyle!  All you have to do is know God.

So how do we know God?  THAT is something that seems to have stumped Christians for years.
Yet, all we have to do is the one thing most people won't do or just don't "have time for" - spending
time in the Bible, God's Word.

Just like I got to know Leland intimately by reading his words, the only way you will experience great
adventures in faith is to know God intimately.  The only way you will know Him intimately is to spend
time with Him by reading His words.  Most people want to spend time on their face, praying and
crying out to God.  BUT just like my first illustration, that is NOT how you get to know, really know,
God.

Romans 12:2 says you have to RENEW your mind (change from your old way of thinking to God's
way of thinking).  As you renew your mind, you will be changed.  As you are changed, you will begin
to know God and how He operates.  Col. 3:10 says that you will begin to take on God's traits - walk
after His image.

Can you really afford NOT to spend time with God and His Words that He had written down just for
you?  Not in the times we are living in.  His Words - they are for your victorious life!  They are how
you overcome every obstacle the enemy throws at you!  You can't live without His Word!

Scriptures

Daniel 11:32 (KJV) - ...the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Romans 12:2.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Col. 3:10. And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Mark 16:20 - confirming the Word with signs following
