Dr. Pepper.  The jingle went something like this:

I'm a Pepper, he's a Pepper
She's a Pepper, We're a Pepper
Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?
Dr. Pepper, drink Dr. Pepper....

It's a catchy little ditty that sticks in your head and pops back out at the weirdest times.

As I mentioned last week, I was listening to a sermon one Sunday and the pastor said, "It isn't good enough just
to hear the Word of God.  You must be a doer."  As soon as he said that, I "heard" that jingle in my head and
substituted doer - as in, "I'm a doer, he's a doer... wouldn't you like to be a doer, too?"

Now I can't get it out of my mind!  But that's OK because it reminds me not only to read my Bible but to obey
what I read - to DO what I am supposed to do - be a Doer!

So here's the challenge I faced recently in being a doer - honesty.  I ordered ONE rug from a company.  When
my order arrived, I discovered instead of one rug, I received one package with 6 rugs in it.  Someone in the
warehouse simply grabbed the bag and tossed it in the box rather than opening it and taking one rug out.

Now no one would have known if I kept those extra rugs.  It was an opportunity to mess up big time - with God!  I
immediately called the company and was told how to return the extra rugs.  The guy said he'd email me a return
label within 48 hours.

The test to be honest wasn't difficult.  I would never keep those extra rugs - not because I'm so wonderful but
because it would dishonor God.  GOD would know even if no one else did.

Five days later I finally realized I had not received a label.  Hmmm - what a hassle - should I pursue it?  YES!  I
called again.  I was again told I would receive a label - and this time, I did.  This test might have been a little
harder to do since it was sort of a pain to have to keep calling a company to send their product back - but I did.

You would think that was it, right?  Tests passed and move on.  Nope.  This morning in my email, I received a
notice the company had received my returned rugs and that my account had been credited for the extra rugs.
YOWZERS!  Not only did they send me extra rugs that I didn't order and didn't pay for but now they were giving
me money for  the rugs that I didn't order and didn't pay for.

Did I pass the test?  You bet.  It isn't so much an honesty test now but a patience one.  I read that email and
thought - "Good grief what is the matter with these people.  You'd think they wouldn't have this much trouble!
What's the use."   By now, most people would have just given up and kept the money.  But I won't.

Know why?  I am a doer of the Word of God and His Word says, "YOU SHALL NOT STEAL."   Keeping
something you didn't pay for and the company didn't intend for you to keep is stealing.  So it is that simple.  As
a doer, I will call the company AGAIN and get this fixed - and keep at it until it is resolved - HONESTLY.

I'm a doer, he's a doer, dum de dum dum.... wouldn't you like to be a doer, too?

Until next time - ENJOY TODAY!
