1 Timothy 2
1. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks
be made for all men,
2. for kings (presidents) and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and reverence.
3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4. who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
So. Now more than ever, it is vital to pray for those in authority. God called us to pray for
those in authority which now includes the newly elected 44th president. Some of you may
have voted this man in office; others may not have. It no longer matters because he is now in
office.
Remember, it is our obedience to God that affects our future. If you voted as God led you to,
you have gained a protection not available to those who voted color, economics, war stance,
or party line. Some Christians will be facing harsh issues in the very near future - Christians
who made someone other than God Almighty their source.
As obedient Christians, our work has just begun. Remember what Proverbs 21:1 said - that
the "king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord - God guides it where He
pleases". God will guide this president where God wants him to go. OUR job is to pray for this
president whether we voted for him or not. We obey that commandment and it doesn't matter
what comes down the line in the near future, we will be protected from it.
Remember, it is OUR job to open the way for God to move, through prayer. God will deal with
our leaders. By continuing to humble ourselves - to submit to God's authority - in unity and
prayer, God can change injustice and corruption in the political arena. He will change the
hearts of everyone from the White House on down to make sure we are governed justly.
This "king" is now our 44th president and to be covered in prayer. It is for our own protection
that we obey this commandment! Our very lives may depend on this obedience. Cover him
with protection from evil; ask God to move on his heart as God wills; and remember, through
obedience to God we garner supernatural protection and safety, provision, financial
prosperity, and a quiet and peaceable life!
