But angels are only servants. They are spirits sent from God to care for those who will receive salvation.  (Hebrews 1:14, NLT)

As children, we have angels which are popularly called "guardian angels" but are actually those same ministering
spirits.  There are recording angels who write down every single word which every man speaks.  God gave His
angels the assignment of guarding us - keeping us safe in everything we do - but we have to put them to work with
the words of our mouth.
In both the Hebrew and the Greek, there is a word signifying a "messenger," and hence employed to denote any
agent God sends forth to execute his purposes.  How do angels work for us?

Psalms 103:20 states that they excel in strength when they do His commandments - they listen to the voice of His
Word.  How do they hear the voice of His Word?  We have to give it voice - to quote the scriptures' to quote what
God says.  They are ONLY activated by the Word of God, not negative confessions.

More neat facts on angels can be found on the Home Page.

So what does this have to do with us, you ask?  We tend to get all holy when we think about angels.  We think so
HIGH that we rarely put our angels to work aside from perhaps keeping us safe or guarding our children.  Yet God
sent His angels to be ministering spirits for us - to wait upon us like a waiter in a restaurant.

Other words for ministering spirits are "to do service, attendant."  Other words for the word minister are: "care for,
look after, wait on, comfort, or tend to."  Get the picture?

So let me give you a little example of how I learned about angels being our ministering spirits.  One day Leland and I
were in an upscale store looking at men's suits.  We found one that looked so sharp on him, I wanted him to buy it
RIGHT NOW.

Leland is the kind of person no one can push into anything.  He always takes his time and considers every angle.
Sometimes it is a good thing; sometimes not.  Obviously I am the total opposite although I am getting better. I used
to just jump in if something looked, smelled, felt, or seemed right.  You can guess that I got into a lot of trouble
sometimes, can't you?!

This day I knew that suit was for him.  I knew he was supposed to buy it.  He decided to wait a month or two.  I knew
that suit would not be there in a month or two - seasons were changing and there was a high turnover of clothing in
this store.  There were also only a few in his size.  Inside myself I was fretting and I heard God speak to me, "Why
not station an angel to hide this suit for you until you're ready to come back for it?"

HUH?  But, I did.  I commissioned an angel to hide this suit from others and hold it for us until Leland was ready.  A
few months later when he was ready to purchase a suit, we went into the store.  From across the room, I could see
that there were only two suits left on the rack.  Once there, we checked the sizes and there was one suit in his size
left.

Here is the neatest part.  The day I had assigned my angel to guard the suit for me, I noted there was a slight
crease in the flap in the back of the suit.  No other suit in his size had that crease.  Guess which suit was hanging on
the rack, waiting for my husband to come back and purchase it?  Yep, that very suit.

This may seem very small to you but as you practice putting your angels to work, it helps to start small.  I
commissioned an angel to hide an Escalade one time until Leland realized that God meant for him to have it.  One
month later, when he went to see if it was still available, the car lot owner made the statement that several people
had looked at it and a few had tried to buy it but for one reason or another, it never sold to anyone.  She even made
the statement that this vehicle must have been meant for him.

I wonder why?
