JoyUs Musing
Edition #08-15
When I was single and had car trouble, I would call my parents and ask my mom to speak to my dad.  I would tell
her I needed to talk to him about my car and she would always reply, "Well, I don't know if your father can help
you or not; you know his ways are a mystery and he is so mysterious."

Well actually, that story is not true - my father was there for me every time, all the time, no matter when I called.

What most Christians don't know and believe is that the same thing is true of their heavenly Father.  People say,
"There are mysteries we don't know" or "Well you know God, His ways are mysterious."  Most of the time you hear
this because people haven't read their Bible.  They don't know their Father.  So when something happens that
they don't understand, they blame God by calling Him, and His ways, mysterious.

I knew my dad intimately.  I knew how he would react in any given situation because I spent time with my dad and I
knew my dad loved me.  It NEVER crossed my mind that my dad wouldn't help me.

We should have that same confidence in God, our Father - it should NEVER cross our minds that our Father
wouldn't help us.  So many times we don't believe that.  We don't believe He will come through for us.  We don't
believe He will answer our prayers.  We don't believe He wants us to prosper.  We don't believe so we say, "Well
it's a mystery."

The Bible says in Matthew, Mark and Luke that it is given unto us (God's Children) to KNOW the mysteries.  It is
the unbeliever who does not know the mysteries the Bible speaks of - and they are not supposed to.

When it says that the mystery is now made manifest to His saints, the word "manifest" should jump out at us.
That word lets us know that His mysteries have been revealed to us - made obvious!  We are even to be
stewards of those mysteries of God and to know the mystery of His Will.

It's pretty clear then that the mysteries the Bible talks about are for us to know.  God is our Father - He isn't trying
to hide anything from us.  The important thing is to know HOW to access the knowledge of those mysteries - and
that's where we lose most Christians.

I will address this in next week's Musing but here's a hint:

For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God: for no man understands him; howbeit
in the Spirit he speaks mysteries
.  When you pray in the Spirit, in your prayer language, in unknown tongues, you
are praying out the mysteries that are hidden.

But that is another Musing and you'll have to wait - OR - seek out the information yourself if you can't!

Until next week, live joyfully!  NAN
